Digital Content Specialist (Regular/Full-time)

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Digital Content Specialist works as part of a collaborative team to support the High Museum of Art’s digital strategy across its website and digital communication platforms, to meet both online engagement and offline attendance goals.

 

Work Schedule:

·       Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm with occasional evening and weekends required as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Website and mobile content management (70%)

·       Manage day-to-day content production schedules for all website content as well as cross-departmental meetings for review of content needs.

·       Oversee content workflow processes and manage the High Museum web users, provide higher strategy and oversight of web content across departments and align web content and promotion with larger museum priorities

·       Analyzing user behavior and flow, create and distribute reports to leadership, and suggest improvements based on analytics

·       Build new exhibitions on website, work with exhibition and education departments on content and imagery

·       Serve as internal expert managing the website’s content management system (CMS) and prioritization of content

·       Manage online events calendar

·       Build out additional web content experiences online across the High’s various departments (Education, Exhibitions, Publicity, Shop, Group Sales, Public Programs, etc).

·       Support Database Manager by pulling lists and extractions from the Museum’s CRM, Tessitura.

 

Digital marketing and analysis (20%)

·       Client side tracking of digital ad performance—pixels, campaign tagging, analytics of site visits, ticket sales, and membership to build stronger insight into campaign ROI.

·       Work SEO, SEM, and paid search into overall digital marketing strategy

·       Report on web traffic and work with staff to improve measurement reporting across digital platforms.

·       Increase traffic and engagement and drive revenue generation through e-commerce channels

·       Program and administer digital audience research surveys

 

Other (10%)

·       Staff internal events, as necessary. Represent the museum at community events and meetings

·       Train, assist, and guide new staff and non-experts on web content management system and digital best practices

·       Light administrative work – e.g. collecting monthly invoices and tracking finances against the department’s annual budget.

·       Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Art History, Communications, Journalism, Computer Science, Web Design or related field preferred.

·       Minimum 3-5 years digital experience at an agency, in-house marketing or digital department, or similar environment.

·       Experience with Google Analytics and paid search/Google Adwords

·       Strong knowledge of HTML

·       Proficiency in WordPress

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

·       Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) 

 

Skills and Abilities:

·       Knowledge of web development terminology and processes

·       Current knowledge of digital marketing best practices

·       Strong oral and written communications skills are essential

·       Ability to handle and balance many responsibilities in a calm and efficient manner

·       High level of self direction, self-motivation and ability to set priorities

·       High level of creativity and energy

·       Ability to set priorities and solve practical problems with minimal supervision

·       Passion for creating and communicating effective digital marketing materials and measuring their results
