Job Summary:

The Alliance Theatre seeks a Staff Electrician for the upcoming 2017/2018 season. The Staff Electrician is a key member of the electrics team, which is responsible for realizing lighting and projection designs for the theatre’s 12 annual productions. The Alliance Theatre produces on LORT B and D stages, as well as Theatre for Young Audiences productions. During the 2017/18 season, the Alliance will produce offsite at 13 different venues throughout Metro Atlanta while it renovates its main stage at the Woodruff Arts Center.


Work Schedule:

·       Tuesday – Sunday with various hours, nights and weekends will be required as needed.   



·       Hanging and focusing lights.

·       Installing and maintaining projections equipment.

·       Programming and running shows, including follow spot.

·       Maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting. 

·       Some potential local touring.

Education and Experience:

·       GED or High School Diploma is required.

·       Experience programming EOS and Express family consoles and knowledge of Vectorworks Spotlight.

·       Experience in a LORT B professional theatre is preferred.

·       Must have a valid driver’s license.


Skills and Abilities:

·       Basic electrical wiring skills are required including 120v standards, 240v standards, and low-voltage practices.

·       Must be familiar with DMX-controlled devices and moving lights.

·       Must demonstrate basic troubleshooting and signal flow knowledge.

·       Minor carpentry/rigging skills is a plus.

·       Some standing, walking, bending, frequent use of hands, stooping and light lifting (at least 70 pounds) is needed.

·       Must be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated working areas (catwalks, grids, scenery, etc.).

·       The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
